Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, often called Ashanti, was born on the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer songwriter. Ashanti became famous as an teen and signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. The same year, she was featured as a guest on Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured on the Fat Joe's hit song What's Luv?! and Ja Rules' track Never In Time Both of them were huge hits. When she had Foolish and The What's Luv being at number one She became the first woman to record two songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 from the United States. The song is called What's Luv!
